[September Edition] Project Invest Presents: Frekan

This month’s Project Invest recipient goes to a casual wear clothing line based out of New York known as Frekan. Frekan already has a strong fan based with their limited edition caps and t-shirts sporting the company’s unique and sporty logo. The word “Frekan”, which means “fresh,” originates from the French Creole dialect. Frekan Clothing Line represents one’s fresh style, attitude and uniqueness through knowledge of sense of self. The fashionable forward company originated in the year of 2016 in October and didn’t start off as a common idea like most businesses.

Founders, Edwin Bellevue (on the right)  and Roudly Calixte (on the left) spent the last years working on other projects and brands trying to find something that sparked interest in them. Surprisingly, Frekan started off as a joke, unknowingly realizing the brilliant idea that had just spawned upon them. However, as ideas started to flow amongst their team and the implementation of creative balance; Frekan was finally born, changing men’s and ladies fashion; through artistic, creative and unique means.

Frekan’s interesting logo came about through collective distribution of ideas. CEO & Founder Edwin Bellevue, also known as “Eddie” gives his personal recollection on how the business came to be. “The vision was starting to become clear. There were constant text messages coming from everyone’s phone. Whenever someone spoke, the I-phone’s bubble would pop up.” “And then it hit me instantaneously; the bubble immediately became the base of the logo”.

Additionally, CEO & Founder Roudly Calixte, also known as “Rodney”, personally remembers the unique emergence of Frekan along with its savvy slogan. “I spent a few days thinking about the business and decided that Frekan needed a slogan that would stand out; just like other brands”. Within a matter of hours, Roudly was able to coin the slogan “Fresh Style, Fresh Attitude”, which can be seen as the official slogan on Frekans website.

Unlike most businesses, Frekan is not concerned with “title” with regards to who owns or runs the business. An entire team of people, all play an important part in the business and collectively share ideas and suggestions on how to grow the business and meet their market. Frekan places high significance on their community as well as their customers since they metaphorically help Frekan grow into a huge brand that will be soon taking over market internationally. Frekan is given life through its dedicated supporters and customers; “they build it, create the brand and essentially live FREKAN” states Eddie.

 


Frekan is blowing up unique media markets with their signature style hats, shirts, jackets and distinct logo. Most importantly,  Frekan has attracted the attention of former model and TV personality Nigel Barker and public figure “Jay Already Famous”. Frekan represents style, casual trendiness with a hint of attitude which is certain to take clean fashion to new levels.  Project Invest is honored to make Frekan our recipient this month and will continue to support their growing business.
