A Conversation with Elder Errol Gibbs

With the pleasure of honouring Africans living in the Diaspora who are in action, this week, we have a very special gift for you, and it comes in the form of wisdom.

Elder Errol Gibbs was born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. He is a friend and husband to Marjorie; they currently live in Milton, ON and have nurtured five children together. All of whom function in semi-professional and professional careers. Errol obtained a highly engaged polytechnic engineering education before immigrated to Canada in 1969. It was here in Canada, that he furthered his education as a Certified (Scientific) Engineering Technologist (CET), and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Elder Errol is a former employee of Ontario Power Generation (OPG) (1970 – 1995) (thermal and nuclear divisions)

In 1997, he moved to the United States and joined the project management and business-consulting firm (the PCI Group Inc.), as the Resident Scientific Technologist, and Senior Process Designer.

He has written and co-presented a several “White Papers” entitled:

Manufacturing Engineering Project Office (MEPO) – A Link to Supplier Integration, at a Global Conference on Project Management in Houston, Texas, USA

Leadership: A New Leadership Perspective: A Hierarchal Structure of Five Foundations at the International Leaders Association (ILA) 19th Global Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA.

The years of 2008 and 2010 , Elder Errol presented at the 17th and 19th Annual Science Symposium, sponsored by Visions of Science Network for Learning (VOSNL) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He had the privilege to speak on the same circuit as distinguished former NASA astronaut Captain Winston E. Scott (Captain, USN, RET) and Professor and Dr. Mercedes T. Richards (1955–2016), Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Pennsylvania State University, USA.

Editor’s Note: Although Elder Errol’s experiences are too numerous to capture in one sitting, we as a global community may want to pay particular attention to our conversation on Repatriations and how this should be approached from a moral stand point and not just a legal one.
