Welcome to the another week everyone. This week’s show was an exciting one for the Hear 2 Help You camp. We had the pleasure of learning about one of the most prestigious organizations in North America for women. We’re talking about the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding more than 200,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the
Republic of Korea…And now-CANADA!

According to the Sorority’s press release, The dynamic ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,
established the first Canadian chapter, a long-awaited addition to an impressive list
of chapters in Jamaica, England, Japan, Bermuda, The Virgin Islands, Germany, The
Bahamas, and Korea.

Founded in 1913 by 22 visionary women at Howard University in Washington, D.C., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has always been at the forefront of activism, beginning with the Women’s Suffrage Movement in the year of its inception.

Women like, Winona Cargile Alexander, Ethel Cuff Black and others continue to be honoured for what they started 106 years ago.

Not only have the Delta Sigma Theta’s been at the forefront of activism, they’ve also been able to influence some of the most prominent women in recent history to join their organization and stand with them.

Claudene NeysmithThis incredible woman earned a Bacholor of Fine Arts Degree from Howard University. Along with her acting and singing, she is also a certified, Personal Trainer who specializes in Athletic Training, Cardio Workouts, Core Training, Executive Fitness, Family Fitness, Fat Loss, Group Exercise, Personal Training, Toning and General Fitness, Weight Loss, and all levels of Women Fitness.

In our interview with Ms. Neysmith, she stressed the fact that it was her sense of duty to give back to come up with the idea of the Youth Level Up Summit which takes place on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at The YMCA on Grosvenor in Downtown Toronto.

Youth/Teens Level Up – A Leadership Experience, is a full day event from 9-5pm geared towards the Future Entrepreneurs in our wondrous GTA community (aged 12-19), which is brimming with talent. Sometimes this talent just needs a little glimpse into what their future can be. They need to see where their principles, goals and ideas can take them.

This power packed lineup features community leaders from all walks of life.

Dr. Joseph Smith, is an educator, community worker and researcher, as well as the Co-Founder of Generation Chosen.

Altonia Taylor is the founder of College Athletic Prep Services (CAPS), Athlete and
Future Global Leader!

Benjamin De Graaf AKA DJ Elegance says “music is Everything!” He is a: coach, kids
advocate and the event strategist for djelegance.ca.

Richard Pierre is a video editor by day & an award winning film-maker by night!

Also, as seen on TV; Mahlikah Aweri Enml’g’at Saqama’sgw is a: slam poet, arts
educator, and community warrior.
